Atlanta Evergreen Marriott Conference Resort
After a long delayed day and the memorable airport Porsche service by Delta, Paul and I finally made our way to the Atlanta Evergreen Marriott Conference Resort. Our room and stay was paid by HQ, and upon checking in our names and room assignment were quickly identified and completed.

We checked in later at night well after 11:00pm. Check in service was quick and professional. To the left of the reception desk in a long hall way the leads to the elevator station. The resort has a warm craftsman feel and the design is rich in woods, leather and dark finishes. It borders on looking like a lodge, and it certainly feels like a resort. The check in desk is elevated on the 4th floor and my room 324 was one floor down on the third. At the third floor you make a right after going through a short hall and 324 is halfway down the hall on the right.

On entering the room, it was perfectly nice for a 2-night business trip. The small room had a short entry hall. On the left was the bathroom and the right a closet and coffee station. The room was nicely decorated with beds, desk, sitting chair and TV console. Standard issue business. I’ve stayed in rooms like this countless times and from this perspective it was unmemorable, but when I’m staying for business this is really all I need. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure ok.

Room amenities included a coffee station with $5 bottles of water, small fridge, room service, Thann toiletries, and nice little balcony out the slider door. Most of the time Paul and I were in meetings, and the room was perfectly nice to sleep and shower in.

As part of our standard issue business meeting, HQ made sure we had breakfast in the morning which was severed in the hotel restaurant. The breakfast buffet included hot items like French toast, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and potatoes. Other southern goodies included biscuits and gravy, grits, and chicken waffles. There was also an egg station, fruit section and cereal. It was a moderately good breakfast.
During the downtime between meetings I was able to snap a few pictures of the facilities and outside grounds. The property is more out in the suburbs or outskirts (Stone Mountain area of Atlanta). This trip was about business and I really couldn’t tell much about the area outside the resort. The area from a country side perspective seemed nice.
In Summary:
The Atlanta Evergreen Marriott Conference Resort was a perfectly fine location for a business meeting. The place was nicely decorated, the hotel was well maintained, and the hotel staff was friendly and helpful when assistance was needed. I would imagine that this location has a split personality, either being a business location for professionals or hosting families when they want to visit the stone mountain area. I don’t stay in many Marriott locations so I wouldn’t be able to compare this to other Marriott properties. On balance the location was nice, quiet and comfortable for our meeting.
