Since Susan and I would be leaving from San Francisco Airport in the morning we elected to stay at the Hyatt Regency SFO the evening before. This served us in two ways in that we would avoid a drive from Sacramento on the day of our short trip to Los Angeles and, and we would pick up another stay toward our diamond status with Hyatt.<\/p>\n

We arrived to the Hyatt Regency SFO later on a Friday evening. The hotel offers valet parking that can be extended for the duration of your trip out of the airport. The cost is $30 per day staying at the hotel and $16 per day while traveling. After checking the vehicle in with the valet we visited the reception desk and checked into our room. We were the only individuals in at the desk and the process was quick and easy.<\/p>\n

After checking in you proceed straightaway to the main elevators and up to your floor. On exiting the elevators, you have a good view of the interior atrium, which has a definite 1980’s feel. Although dated, I appreciate the open modern feel of the space. It was a quick left and to our room.<\/p>\n

Once entering the room, the layout is straight forward. Closet to the left and bathroom to the right. A couple more feet and you\u2019re into the main space. The room consisted of the king bed with night stands, a small sofa with coffee table, desk, and the combo TV console-dresser. The style of design and furnishing is contemporary. The room was clean and in good shape. In the morning we enjoyed the bayview, which is just beyond the parking lot and other buildings.<\/p>\n

The bathroom was typical Hyatt Regency, which I find efficient and easy to use. The usual KenetMD sundries are present. The closet included a safe and caffeine station.<\/p>\n

That evening we enjoyed a quick meal at the hotel restaurant. The setup of the restaurant was nice and the food was adequate.<\/p>\n

In the morning we visited the Regency Club Lounge for breakfast\u00a0before our flight. The club is located on the top 9th floor and has views of the surrounding bay and hills. The shape of the room is a semicircle arch that progresses maybe 50′. At one end is the serving area with the rest of the space used for seating and guests. There is an outside seating area as well that is probably lovely during good weather. Unfortunately, it was closed for our visit.<\/p>\n

The breakfast fair included the following offerings: fruit, cereal, assorted Danishes and breads, cheese, salmon, hot oatmeal and a hot quiche, and juices \/ coffee. We visited round 8:30m and the room was busy with guests. I would estimate that this club could be crowded at times as the space isn\u2019t that large. That said, the breakfast was good and the club worked well for our travel and breakfast needs.<\/p>\n

The Hyatt Regency SFO is a perfectly nice airport hotel. The rooms were in good condition, the associates polite and responsive, and the available services and facilities were comprehensive for a standard Hyatt Regency. The parking services were handled professionally and with no issues. Would I stay at this hotel again? Probably. Especially if I was trying to reach a specific Hyatt status level.
